Keep Practicing

Hopefully this is more inspiring than discouraging, but you need to realize that your practice never ends. It is ongoing. Over and over again you will become attached to things and get caught up in your stuff. This won't stop. It's a practice. Just keep practicing. That's the practice. Keep showing up. Keep practicing. It doesn't end because one day you feel like you are connected to the moment and have found gratitude. The moment you start congratulating yourself and celebrating your success is the moment you lose the connection. Go with the flow. The dance back and forth is ongoing. Enjoy the dance. If you were connected all the time you probably wouldn't do anything. You wouldn't be living and breathing and interacting with people and moving through the world. You have an Ego for a reason and your Ego is helping you maintain healthy boundaries and create an identity for yourself in this life. Feeling your feelings is healthy. Let them come up. Don't push them down. When you feel you are attaching to something practice letting it go. Use the tools of the practice. They're not hypothetical. They are practical. Practice. Don't just read about how to practice. Practice! When you practice letting go of the Ego you get wonderful glimpses of the possibility of union and connection. This is a wonderful experience but it's not sustainable. Enjoy it while it lasts. Swim in it. Bathe in it. Breathe into it. Know that it won't last. You still have to do the laundry. You still have get up off your mat and head to work. You still have to wash the dishes. The world and all of your responsibilities don't suddenly disappear because you found a moment of connection. You have to ride the wave. Dance. Embrace it all. Try to remain detached but know that at times you're going to become attached. If you get attached to something don't worry about it. It happens. Change is not only inevitable, but always happening. When you truly embrace this concept of change being constant, the only thing left to do is grow, detach, venture inwards, touch the spirit and find your source — the one responsible for keeping you grounded through the ever-changing seasons of life. Your life is a sacred journey. It is about change, growth, discovery, movement, transformation, continuously expanding your vision of what is possible, stretching your soul, learning to see clearly and deeply, listening to your intuition, taking courageous challenges at every step along the way. You are on the path… exactly where you are meant to be right now… And from here, you can only go forward, shaping your life story into a magnificent tale of triumph, of healing, of courage, of beauty, of wisdom, of power, of dignity, and of love.
